Gratitude For the Masculine

I held a running narrative for quite some time that the majority of men were incapable of true intimacy and vulnerability. This false story was predetermined by a father figure who was abusive, absent, and emotionally immature, coupled with my own experiences of failed relationships and pains based upon that initial narrative.

It has taken many years of personal healing to truly be able to see that although, yes, there is still indeed the wounded masculine that exists on many levels, there are also so many strong beautiful vulnerable men who are deeply connected to themselves, their emotions and committed to their own personal and spiritual growth.

This past week I have been in deep introspection and review and have come to see all the beauty that men truly can and do hold. For every man in my life past and present who has shown up bare, soul drenched, heart exposed.

Thank you.

To all men everywhere who continue to decondition their own programming incurred through the patriarchy and are showing the way for our next generations.

Thank you.

Your authenticity and commitment to enacting your own definition of what it means to be strong and masculine despite our societal norms and expectations has been a huge part of my healing process in more ways than you know.

P.S. Shout out to the men who are trying their best, it has been a cruel societal system and it was not set up to foster a place of acceptance for all of your emotions. I see you. It is safe to feel.
