Thank you Plant Medicine
I am a previous Mental Health Professional, a current Womb Awakening Facilitator, and student pursuing my doctorates in Somatic Psychology. And amidst my trainings and studies and certificates gained there had been no greater teacher than the Earth herself.
I went to therapy for the first time when I was 7 years old and went on anti-depressants when I was 16, went to rehab when I was 20 and begun my healing journey from my own trauma history since that time. Over the course of the last 9 years I have continued therapy utilizing EMDR and inner child/internal family systems work, I have done hypnotherapy, countless Womb sessions, Shamanic healing and energy work, Somatic integration and the list goes on in the tool box of the ways in which I have chosen to journey deep within the story of this lifetime to clear the pain and conditionings graced upon me in this incarnation. Through this journey I have come to understand my suffering in a deeply humbling way. But again the Earth herself has healed me and helped me to see that which was beyond my own comprehension more than any other modalities I had immersed myself in.
Mama Aya (ayahuasca ) as I often refer to her, has been a potent and integral aspect of my trauma healing and deeper understanding of who and what I am and the role I am to play on this Earth at this time. There is such a deep stigmatization around the use of plant medicines and psychedelics but especially this hinders the ability for these medicines to be accepted and used in conjunction treatment for clinical depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress and addiction.
I see a future where we all have a right to choose the path of our own healing, I envision this and so it is I felt inclined to share my story and to honor the Earth Mother and her emanation as Mama Aya for the deepest and most profound healing and clarity she has brought into my life as a means of destigmatizing the use of these medicines. I honor the peoples of South America who share these medicines and teachings with Westerners despite the history of genocide, colonization and murder that has perpetuated a deeper need for healing on a collective level. We deeply need healing in such a profound way and Mother Earth is here to help us. I am forever in deep gratitude for all she has given back to me.
