Grief for Mother Earth
My heart is weeping for our earth mother, and for us. In our blind ignorance, and the programmed ways in which we live in this world, we are slowly but surely destroying the only place we have to call home. As the Amazon Rainforest continues to burn we risk losing 20% of the oxygen it produces, thus impacting the increase of carbon driving the continued change in climate.
Our earth's lungs are filled with smoke. If we think this wont impact all of us, we are surely blind. These fires were set by cattle ranchers and loggers with political and business interests tied to Brazil's president who has stated numerous times his interests in clearing the forest for business profits. We can place blame outside of ourselves in corrupt governmental ways, which we see throughout the world, but it takes a honest and deeper inquiry to look within and see the ways in which we perpetuate these same ideals.
Our over consumption of meat and paper products contribute to this demand. Our focus on profit over the decimation of the earth is collective. We continue to live our day to day lives with little awareness of our impact. Or maybe we do, but we arent seeing enough action taking place to contribute to a shift in the ways in which we have already destroyed much of this earth. We are disconnected from ourselves and the earth. Unaware that we are a collective and we all impact eachother and this earth in which we live.
We need to work together to bring about mass change. This can take place in various ways, which I have posted above, however in its simplest but most profound form, what it comes down to is us all looking within to the relationship we have with nature, and the relationship we have to ourselves, seeking to see the ways in which we can shift our daily impact and bringing awareness to those we love. It is up to us to save ourselves, and try to heal the ways in which we have brought a great unbalance to our earth.
